God’s Passion

“And they sang a new song…out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation”(Revelation 5: 9).

God’s passion and heartbeat is to reach every nation with the good news of Jesus Christ – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3: 16). He has put everything in place. Through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, every person of every tribe and tongue and people and nation can be saved for all eternity. God made every provision. He calls, trains, and sends every day ordinary people, of all walks of life, into other places and other lands to preach the gospel, the good news that Jesus has already accomplished salvation for them. This is the pattern. At the end of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and in the first chapter of Acts, we have the account from different authors, of Jesus telling believers to go to the nations and herald the good news to all people! God’s great commission to the church is for every believer to take the gospel to all — from the neighbor next door to the nations of the world. The gospel is the power of God to set every person free in every way now, and forever! What a priceless treasure we have in our hands! It is given to us to have and enjoy to the fullest, and to give it away. The amazing thing is that the more you give this treasure away, the more you receive and enjoy and have in possession. It is liquid gold, abundantly enriching the lives of others, all the while, lavishing on you the inward freedom, joy, and deep, settled peace of fellowship with your heavenly Father, and, the knowledge that you are making an eternal impact for immeasurable good in the lives of others around you. In sharing the gospel you are fulfilling God’s supreme desire of getting the Word into the hearts and lives of people so they can receive God’s love, life, and boundless provisions in every way, of which he is thrilled to pour out upon them. We need to realize God wants to bless every person on this earth abundantly! That is his passion, and it is through believers, those who will embrace and act on his word, that the blessings flow. 2-28-15
